This past weekend I traveled to Salzburg, Austria with a few friends and couldn’t stop being in awe of the nature I was surrounded by. The first day, my friends and I wandered over to the Old Town, and found a castle on a hill that overlooked the whole city. Naturally, we walked up the hill to scout the view, and ended up being surrounded by verdant hills dotted with wildflowers. The second day, we crossed the border into Konigsee, Germany – a lake nestled between the mountains. The water was crystal clear, and as blue as the sky above. The weather was a comfortable 70 degrees, and we basked in the ambience as the wind slid through our hair.
I got to thinking, these beautiful and wondrous sights of nature – the flowers, the mountains, the lake… are all beautiful regardless of spectators. They aren’t worried about an audience liking/disliking them, concluding their worth. Not insecure of their own demeanor. They stand tall and confident without sentiment. Without the care the impress. They be just to be.
There are so many lessons we can take from nature. After all, nature was existed first. It survived longer than humanity ever has.
We should take better care of it. Learn from it. Take after it.
