In retrospect

As mentioned earlier in one of my previous posts, last year before deciding to study abroad I didn’t feel like I was growing. I wasn’t in the best state of mind and was desperately yearning for change.

So I acted. I turned in my study abroad application and did it. I studied abroad in one of the most exciting cities in which to live. I saw the world, experienced different cultures, and grew as an individual because of it.

Looking back at that low state I’ve learned to become grateful for it because it reaped this amazing opportunity for me. If I had never felt those lows, I would have never been motivated to study abroad. And study abroad will remain one of my most treasured journeys I’ve ever embarked on.

So this is a reminder, that if for some reason you’re not feeling content or happy with your current lifestyle – maybe your job, your relationship, your setting – don’t lose hope. Something good can come out of it. What is important is to be proactive and begin to make that change.

And I know that’s not easy. In my opinion, it’s actually the toughest part. But in the end it can be the most rewarding.
